The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ekanga closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Ekanga wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Powers, who protects the arm well.
Powers is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Ekanga is trying to get an arm triangle but Powers is defending well.
Powers tries to buck Ekanga off but Ekanga is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Powers can't do much from the bottom here.

Ekanga tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Ekanga has hold of Powers's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Powers seems comfortable defending it but Ekanga has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Powers is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Powers is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Ekanga couldn't care less - he's delighted!
