Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Paul Collins!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Collins moves in looking to clinch but Hanson pushes him off.
Hanson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Paul Collins has been cut.
Collins tries a head kick but it misses.

Hanson forces Collins back against the cage and clinches.
Collins trying to stall but Hanson improves his position.
Collins lands an elbow that stopped Hanson in his tracks for a moment.

Hanson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hanson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Hanson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Hanson has his foot on Collins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Collins works his way back into a safe position though.

Collins is fighting to break Hanson's control of his arms but Hanson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Collins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hanson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Paul Collins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hanson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hanson lands in his opponent's guard.

Collins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hanson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hanson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Collins, who protects the arm well.
Hanson is looking to take a break and control but Collins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That was a close second round but I would say that David Hanson will probably get the nod.

It looked like Hanson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Hanson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
David Hanson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hanson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
