Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roscoe Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Rutherford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rutherford comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Genesis - Deep in the Motherlode kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins checks a leg kick.
Mike Rutherford seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rutherford shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rutherford showed some decent athleticism there.
Rutherford is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Rutherford is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jenkins defends it well.

Rutherford's coach down at Area51 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rutherford's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Jenkins pushes Rutherford off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Rutherford will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jenkins has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rutherford to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Jenkins is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rutherford pulls down on the head and he's put Jenkins to sleep! This one is all over!
