PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomas Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tomas Reis looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kevin Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tomas Reis!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerr pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Reis.
Kerr tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Kerr is looking to improve his position but Reis isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reis manages to capitalize on a mistake by Kerr to take his back!
Kerr tries to escape but Reis has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Reis controlling from the back.
Kerr could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kerr looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Kerr is trying to get back to his feet but Reis has full control of the position and if anything, Kerr has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Kerr turns into Reis and is now in his guard.
Kerr chips away with some ground and pound.
Kerr lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Reis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Reis looks winded!
Reis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kerr is one step ahead there.
Kerr distracts Reis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kerr's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Kerr drops back, looking for a kneebar! Reis looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Reis looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Reis!

Kerr misses with an elbow from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reis avoids the strikes from the bottom by Kerr.
Kerr throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Kerr can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Reis decides to stand back up. Reis steps back and let's Kerr get back to his feet.
Tomas Reis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kerr avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kerr is looking to counter with head kicks.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kerr tries to clinch but Reis moves out of range.
Kerr tries to move into range but Reis moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Reis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Kerr sneaks out the side door and pushes Reis away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Kerr has managed to clinch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kerr not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Reis tries to stand but Kerr is controlling from the bottom.
Kerr managing to control the position.
Reis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kerr is looking to stand up but Reis isn't so interested in that idea.
Kerr scores with a nice shot.
Kerr will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Kerr fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Reis to the ground. Kerr is now in Reis's guard.
Reis wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Kerr manages to pass to side control.

Kerr lands with a punch from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Kerr dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Kerr clinches up with Reis and pushes him back against the cage.

Reis has picked Kerr up - he's going for a ride! Reis dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Kerr manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Reis keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Reis breaks from the clinch.

Reis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kerr tries to kick Reis off in order to stand up. Reis Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
You can see the frustration on Kerr's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kerr is trying to improve his position.
Kerr is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Reis asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Kerr manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Reis is breathing heavily.

Kerr is nestled in close to Reis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Kerr drops an elbow to the side of Reis's head.
Kerr working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Kerr lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kerr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Reis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kerr.
Kerr wants to pass the guard but Reis is defending well.
Reis on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Kevin Kerr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kerr seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Kerr is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Kerr working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Kerr lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Reis! More strikes land and this one is all over! Kerr jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
