The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balkon lands a nice looking body shot.
Balkon throws a body shot but no joy.
Balkon keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Balkon jabs Shinawatra to the body, keeping him at a distance.
A swing and a miss from Shinawatra.
Nice body punch from Balkon.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Balkon, right into the meat.
Shinawatra walks into a left hand.
Balkon feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shinawatra sprawling to the canvas! Shinawatra rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Balkon finish him?!
Shinawatra is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Balkon throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Shinawatra crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Marian Balkon!
A very excited looking Marian Balkon made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
In defeat, Jaidee Shinawatra stepped up to the mic, saying 'Guess fighting ain't my thing at all..'.
