The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Island moves out of range of the body kick from Reo Jr.
Island takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Reo Jr tries to keep at a distance but Island has taken the fight into the clinch.

Island tightens his grip and picks Reo Jr up, before dumping him to the ground. Reo Jr manages to land in guard.

Island postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

As Reo Jr looks to move away, Island throws a big counter combo but Reo Jr just gets out of the way.

Island tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Island has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Island takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Island jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Reo Jr walks away with a smile on his face. Island gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Reo Jr lands a leg kick that knocks Island off balance momentarily.

Island is staying tight to Reo Jr's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Reo Jr tries to buck Island off but Island is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
