The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sadman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sadman tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Tuomiopaiva is looking for a sweep.
Tuomiopaiva defending against the ground and pound.
Tuomiopaiva is looking to reverse the position.

Sadman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sadman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Tuomiopaiva on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tuomiopaiva tries to get out of the position.

Sadman working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Sadman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Tuomiopaiva is looking to regain half guard here but Sadman keeps moving and retains side control.

Sadman is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Tuomiopaiva is surviving well by controlling Sadman's body position as best he can.
Tuomiopaiva bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Tuomiopaiva is in close to Sadman's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Sadman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tuomiopaiva wants to control from the top but Sadman keeps moving.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sadman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tuomiopaiva's guard.

Sadman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sadman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Sadman passes Tuomiopaiva's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Sadman is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Pertti Tuomiopaiva's cut is getting worse.
Sadman wants to take a breather but Tuomiopaiva is having none of it.
Tuomiopaiva is in trouble now - Sadman has advanced to mount!
Tuomiopaiva is wriggling around trying to escape.

Sadman has control of Tuomiopaiva's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tuomiopaiva regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Sadman has control of Tuomiopaiva's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tuomiopaiva regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sadman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tuomiopaiva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
