The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Costa misses with a low kick.
Goff swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Da Costa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Da Costa shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Goff napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Goff is trying to control Da Costa 's posture but Da Costa avoids it.
Goff is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Da Costa has just dragged him back down to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goff wants to control but Da Costa postures up.
Da Costa works to advance to full mount. Goff defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Da Costa raining down hammerfists from mount.
Da Costa lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Goff is desperately trying to improve his position but Da Costa has a good base and remains in mount.

Da Costa unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Goff wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Da Costa celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
