Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nobutaka Hiyoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paulo Alves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nobutaka Hiyoshi!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alves scores with a takedown into Hiyoshi's guard.
Alves throws a big right hand that misses.
Hiyoshi wants to stand but Alves is controlling the position.
Alves with a flurry of punches that miss.
Alves tries to free his leg and advance position but Hiyoshi is retaining full guard.
Alves trying to control but Hiyoshi is working from the bottom.

Alves drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hiyoshi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Alves has Hiyoshi in his guard.

Alves is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Alves has his foot on Hiyoshi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hiyoshi works his way back into a safe position though.

Hiyoshi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Alves is proving hard to escape from.

Hiyoshi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hiyoshi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Alves wants to sweep but no luck.

Alves has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hiyoshi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Alves is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hiyoshi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alves. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Alves tries to strike from the bottom.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Alves misses with a head kick.
Hiyoshi throws a series of punches but Alves avoids them all with ease.
Alves throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Alves jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hiyoshi throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Alves is breathing heavily.
Alves misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nobutaka Hiyoshi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hiyoshi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alves.
Hiyoshi lands a right hook to the body.
Hiyoshi cracks Alves with a good jab.

Hiyoshi thows a body kick. Alves tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Hiyoshi lands a nice hook to Alves's body. Alves takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Hiyoshi moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Donk. Hiyoshi catches Alves right on the button with a cross.
Alves walks into a left hand.

Alves is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hiyoshi cracks Alves with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Alves tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Hiyoshi pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Alves is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
