The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Shido!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Shido enables Stiopic to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Shido manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stiopic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Stiopic makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Stiopic postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Stiopic is looking to work some ground and pound but Shido has wrist control.

Shido is looking for a triangle but Stiopic pushes his legs off easily.

Stiopic drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stiopic jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
