Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hatt Mughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jim Yankee!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yankee blocks a jab.
Mughes throws a lazy right hand but Yankee sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Yankee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mughes paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Yankee slips under a jab.
Yankee throws a body punch but Mughes moves out of range.
Yankee throws a head kick but Mughes moves out of range.

Mughes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Yankee looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mughes working the strikes but Yankee uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Mughes winds up and cracks Yankee with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Yankee wants to improve his position but Mughes is controlling well.
Yankee won't allow Mughes to pass to mount.
Mughes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Yankee pushes Mughes off and gets back to his feet.
Mughes misses with an uppercut.
Mughes moves out of range of the strikes.

Mughes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yankee is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mughes has gone for a leg lock! Yankee slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mughes's guard.

Yankee ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Yankee misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mughes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yankee as he jumps to the side.
Mughes shoots in and drives through. Yankee sprawls well.
Nice takedown defense from Yankee. No joy for Mughes on that attempt.

The fighters circling - Mughes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Yankee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mughes fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mughes is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Mughes shoots in looking for a takedown. Yankee tries to sprawl out of it but Mughes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yankee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Yankee slips a straight right by Mughes.
Mughes misses with a shot to the body
and Yankee counters with a stiff right hand.
Mughes doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Yankee counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Yankee looks at the referee who does nothing so Yankee lands a crushing right that sends Mughes to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jim Yankee!
