The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda has Payne up against the cage in a clinch.
Payne can't get the takedown.

Maeda is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Payne's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Payne's back!

Payne manages to reverse the position and now he's in Maeda's guard. Nice work there by Payne.
Maeda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Payne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Maeda wants to stand and escape but Payne is having none of it.

Maeda stuffs the takedown attempt from Payne. Payne gets slowly back to his feet.
