PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Blake Garwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Elliot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elliot has chosen Oasis - Cigarettes and Alcohol as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elliot fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Elliot throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Garwood.
Elliot tries to close the distance and clinch up but Garwood swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Garwood lands with a hook. Elliot tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Elliot is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Garwood doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Elliot.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Garwood's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Elliot is going olschool here, as he tries to force Garwood to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Garwood shrugs it off.
Elliot won't let Garwood get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
