Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Camby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Griffin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcus Camby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ryan Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Camby tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Griffin swivels and escapes.
Horrible takedown attempt by Camby or perhaps it was just good defense by Griffin, which made it look bad.
Griffin takes a swing at Camby's ribcage but misses.
Camby is looking to counter the offense by Griffin and move into the clinch.

Griffin shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Griffin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Camby doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Griffin.
Camby is not content to let Griffin control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Griffin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Camby has managed to free his arm - good work.

Griffin winds up and cracks Camby with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Griffin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Camby, who protects the arm well.

Camby struggling a bit here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Griffin looks to score with a jab to the body but Camby is just out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Camby.
Griffin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Camby dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Griffin. That did some damage!
Camby will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Camby looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Camby counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ryan Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Camby goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Camby tries to score a power double leg takedown but Griffin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Camby somewhat.

Camby was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Griffin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Camby's waist but Camby gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Griffin off to one side.
No joy there for Griffin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Camby uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Griffin.
Griffin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Camby doesn't manage to clinch there - Griffin circles away.

Griffin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

and Camby counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Camby shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Griffin as he jumps to the side.
Griffin throws a fast counter high kick but Camby manages to duck under it in time.
Camby shoots for a takedown but Griffin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Griffin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Griffin lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Griffin stands up and waves to Camby to follow him.

Griffin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Camby napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Ryan Griffin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Camby's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
