The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Krocidal manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Simpson on his heels. He'll look to pass Simpson's guard now, I'm sure.
Simpson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Krocidal is looking to stand up but Simpson won't let him.

Simpson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Krocidal is one step ahead there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Krocidal chips away with some ground and pound.

Simpson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Krocidal is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Krocidal tries to break the clinch but Simpson is controlling the position.
Krocidal has had enough of the clinch but Simpson keeps him there for the moment.

Krocidal successfully pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simpson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Simpson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Simpson wants to get up but he can't break Krocidal 's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Krocidal pushes Simpson off and scrambles back to his feet.

Krocidal feints and as Simpson raises his hands in defense, Krocidal changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Simpson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Krocidal scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Krocidal has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Simpson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Simpson is looking to stand up but Krocidal isn't so interested in that idea.

Krocidal scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Simpson to see if he's OK.
Oh Simpson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Krocidal is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Simpson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Krocidal scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Simpson is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Krocidal can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
