Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between DJ Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Heronzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DJ Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Heronzo!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Smith misses

and Heronzo counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Heronzo wants to work for an arm triangle but Smith is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Heronzo drops an elbow to the side of Smith's head.

Heronzo is trying to work for a kimura but Smith is defending well.
Heronzo wants to pass the guard but Smith is defending well.

Heronzo stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Heronzo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Heronzo shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well.

Heronzo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Smith is trying to defend but Heronzo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Heronzo wants to work for an arm triangle but Smith is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Heronzo trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom.
Smith has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Heronzo is working away from the top position though.
Heronzo wants to pass to mount but Smith is defending the position.
Smith flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Smith trying to control but Heronzo postures up.
Smith moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Smith is trying to control the position but Heronzo postures up.

Heronzo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Smith manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Heronzo has Smith in his guard.

Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Heronzo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Heronzo's legs - danger averted.

Smith is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Heronzo has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Smith is looking to defend but Heronzo has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Smith! Heronzo pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Smith taps out and this one is all over!
