The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigues tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rodrigues throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily.

Gracie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Rodrigues is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.

Gracie seems to be working for a kimura but Rodrigues defends the submission attempt.
Gracie prevents Rodrigues from standing back up.
Rodrigues wants to get back to full guard.
Rodrigues is trying to stand.
Rodrigues trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Rodrigues throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Gracie manages to pass to side control.

Rodrigues knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Gracie slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Rodrigues.
