Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Khabib Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CM Punk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Khabib Askren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, CM Punk!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Askren shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Punk manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Askren has gone for a leg lock! Punk slips out almost immediately though and dives into Askren's guard.

Punk stands up over Askren, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Punk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Askren has his foot on Punk's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Punk works his way back into a safe position though.

Askren working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Punk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Punk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Askren is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Askren is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Punk defends well.
Punk lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Punk postures up and lands a big shot to Askren's brow.
Punk is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Punk keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Askren's head.
Punk trying to control the position from guard on top but Askren is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Askren is looking to cinch up a triangle. Punk throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Askren's body to avoid the submission. Askren has instead reached around Punk's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Askren arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Khabib Askren!
CM Punk was interviewed post fight and said 'Damn it.'.
