Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Haigh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Haigh might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Prayer of the Refugee by Rise Against . Escobar has chosen KoRn En Vivo Mtv as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 32 - 1, fighting out of New York, John Haigh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pablo Escobar!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Escobar fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Haigh looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Haigh uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Escobar.

Escobar rushes Haigh and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Escobar goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Escobar struggles to land a body shot inside as Haigh controls his hands.
Escobar can't find room to land a body shot as Haigh controls the action.
Haigh tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Escobar's elbow.
Escobar misses with a body punch.
Escobar tries a body shot but Haigh blocks it.
Escobar has a couple of punches blocked by Haigh.
Escobar softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Escobar.
Escobar struggles to land a body shot inside as Haigh controls his hands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Come on Haigh - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Escobar misses with a hook to the ribs.
Escobar lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Haigh lands a body punch in the clinch.
Escobar tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Haigh's elbow.
Escobar pushes Haigh back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Haigh tries to work over Escobar's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Escobar lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Haigh pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Escobar defending well as Haigh loads up on a big left hand.

Escobar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Haigh looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Escobar looking to pass the guard.
Haigh seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Escobar landing with the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Escobar trying to control but Haigh is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Haigh working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Escobar.
Escobar advances to half guard.
Escobar is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Escobar lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Haigh hang on?
Escobar throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Escobar trying to control but Haigh is having none of it.
Escobar pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Haigh is trying to escape the mount.

Escobar is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Haigh has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Haigh tries to hold on but Escobar postures up.
Haigh is desperately trying to improve his position but Escobar has a good base and remains in mount.
Haigh manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Escobar works his way into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Escobar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Haigh keeps working.

Escobar is trying to get an arm triangle but Haigh is defending well.
Haigh takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Escobar is chipping away with strikes.
Haigh prevents Escobar from improving position.
Escobar misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Escobar trying to control the position but Haigh is working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pablo Escobar dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Escobar takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Haigh takes one to the side of the head.
Escobar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Haigh but Haigh pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Escobar shoots in for a double leg but Haigh sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Haigh gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Pablo Escobar has got the better of the ground game so far.
Escobar wants to control from the top but Haigh keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Escobar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Haigh swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Escobar throws a big elbow that misses.

Haigh is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Escobar wants to control from the top but Haigh keeps moving.
Escobar looking to sit in guard and control but Haigh gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Escobar is looking for a triangle but Haigh pushes his legs off easily.
Haigh trying to control but Escobar is working from the bottom.

Haigh content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Escobar has locked up a guillotine! Escobar's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Haigh is holding on here and Escobar must be using up a lot of energy. Haigh has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Escobar gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Pablo Escobar!
Our winner, Pablo Escobar, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
John Haigh spoke after the fight, saying 'Maybe it is time for me to make the move to another weight class.'.
