Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bird throws a shot from downtown. Cruz moves away and avoids it.
Bird scores with a takedown into Cruz's guard.
Cruz is wriggling around but Bird manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bird working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Bird lands with a punch from half guard.
Cruz wants to get back to his feet.
Still in half guard, Bird seems content to control.
Bird seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bird connects with a nice short shot to Cruz's temple.
Bird takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bird postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Cruz badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Bird around the waist but Bird pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Bird is the winner by TKO! Bird jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ronald Bird!
