The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Yamamoto.
Cole tries to counter by clinching up but Yamamoto breaks away and moves out of range.
Yamamoto misses with a hook to the body
and Cole counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Yamamoto falls off balance throwing a combination

and Cole counters by moving into the clinch.

Yamamoto breaks from the clinch.
Cole ducks under a wild hook from Yamamoto.
Yamamoto lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cole backs up against the cage.

It looks like Salvatore Cole has been cut.
A right-left combo lands from Yamamoto.
Yamamoto rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cole moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cole tries to counter by clinching up but Yamamoto breaks away and moves out of range.
Cole really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Yamamoto circles away from the clinch attempt.
Yamamoto misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Yamamoto gets caught napping as Cole dives in and scores a takedown. Yamamoto manages to retain guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cole stands and steps away. Yamamoto gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Yamamoto is trying to force a seperation but Cole has the dominant position.

Cole tries to clinch but Yamamoto moves out of range.
Yamamoto swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Yamamoto looks to land a combination but Cole avoids it well.
Cole feinted with a counter takedown.
Yamamoto looks winded!
Yamamoto misses with the body kick

and Cole decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Yamamoto's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cole stands and steps away. Yamamoto gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Yamamoto throws a series of punches but Cole avoids them all with ease.

Minoru Yamamoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cole tries for a takedown but Yamamoto sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cole looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Cole moves into the clinch.
Cole jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Yamamoto walks away with a smile on his face. Cole gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Cole tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yamamoto swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Yamamoto pushes Cole up against the cage in a clinch.
Yamamoto tries to throw a body punch but Cole avoids it by throwing Yamamoto back against the cage.
Cole lands a shoulder strike.
Cole tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Yamamoto just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Salvatore Cole. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cole tries to score a body lock takedown but Yamamoto shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Yamamoto gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Yamamoto wants to get back to his feet but Cole passes into half guard.

Cole is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Yamamoto defends it well.

Cole takes one on the button.
Yamamoto jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Yamamoto connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Cole! He's out on his feet! Yamamoto rushes in and drops Cole with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Minoru Yamamoto!
Minoru Yamamoto was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
