Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Axel Crushin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Axel Crushin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Axel Crushin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Power!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Power drives through with a takedown into guard.

Power is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Power lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Crushin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Power is one step ahead there.
Power with a nice head shot there.
Power throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Crushin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Crushin keeping full guard, as Power tries to pass.
Crushin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Power controls the pace.
Power content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Crushin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Power.
Power wants to control from the top but Crushin keeps moving.
Power wanted to stand there but Crushin had control of the position.
Power keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Crushin's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Power postures up.
Power throws a big right hand that misses.
Power scoring with some ground and pound.
Power stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Crushin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Power trying to control the position from guard on top but Crushin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Crushin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Crushin tries to get out of the position.
Power throws a big right hand that misses.
Crushin wants to improve his position but instead Power has moved into half guard.
Power uses his free foot to push down on Crushin's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Crushin.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Power cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Crushin tries to hold on but Power postures up.
Power lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Crushin taking shots to the head.

Crushin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Crushin takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Power putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Crushin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Power on the ground.
Power with a couple of short strikes.
Power controlling his opponent.

Crushin tries to hold on but Power postures up.

Power cracks Crushin with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Power pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Power landing strikes from the mount.

Power looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
BOOM! Power connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Crushin is desperately trying to improve his position but Power has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas Power dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



The fight moves into the clinch position.
Come on Power - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Crushin lands a shot to the body.
Good body shot from Crushin.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Crushin.
Power tries to stall but Crushin uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Crushin lands a left hand.
Power drops down looking for an ankle pick but Crushin pulls his leg out and moves away.
Power ducks straight into an uppercut from Crushin and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Power maanges to regain guard straight away.


It looks like Thomas Power has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Crushin trying to control but Power is working from the bottom.
Crushin wants to pass the guard but Power is keeping the position.
Power wants to sweep but no luck.
Crushin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Power is breathing heavily.

Power looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Power keeping moving, preventing Crushin from controlling successfully.
Crushin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Crushin throws the left hand but Power avoids the punch easily.
Crushin throws a hook but Power avoids it easily.
Crushin throws out a loose jab but Power uses good head movement to avoid it.
Power ducks right into an uppercut from Crushin.
Crushin throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Power tumbling to the canvas!


Power is rocked!

Power looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Power will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Crushin trying to control but Power is working from the bottom.
Power manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Crushin tries to lock up and control but Power gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Power prevents Crushin from getting the reversal.
Crushin is squirming around, avoiding Power's attempts to control the action.

Power lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Power breaks from Crushin's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Crushin wants to control but Power is having none of it.
Power with shots to the head and body - Crushin looks very uncomfortable down there.
Crushin is squirming around, avoiding Power's attempts to control the action.
Power lands with some strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Power fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Crushin wants to hold on but Power pushes him away.
Power is in the full mount, landing strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Axel Crushin will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Thomas Power's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crushin jabs Power right on the nose. Power blinks but takes it well.


That has opened up Thomas Power's cut even more.
Power closes the distance and clinches up with Crushin, looking for a takedown. Power pushes Crushin against the cage but Crushin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Crushin stuffs the takedown.
Axel Crushin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Power.
Power shoots for a double leg takedown but Crushin sprawls well. He's pushed Power's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Power slips under a jab.
Power ducks under a wild hook from Crushin.

Power looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Crushin is fending him off so far but Power persists. Nope, Crushin circles away and we're back to standing.
Power takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Crushin tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Power counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Crushin's guard now.

Power is looking to stand up but Crushin won't let him.
Power keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Crushin's head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Power decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Crushin's guard.

Crushin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Power stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Crushin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Power sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Crushin's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

I would just about give that final round to Thomas Power.
