Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fritz Hobbs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson looks for a takedown but Hobbs sprawls well.
Wilson keeps the fight on the outside.
Hobbs tries to clinch but Wilson moves away

and Wilson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Hobbs keeping moving, preventing Wilson from controlling successfully.

Hobbs had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wilson defends it easily.

Hobbs escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wilson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wilson gets to his feet. Hobbs looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wilson throws a hook but Hobbs blocks it.
Hobbs looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Wilson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hobbs counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Wilson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hobbs tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wilson swivels and escapes.

Hobbs drives through and clinches with Wilson against the cage.
Wilson is working for takedown but Hobbs is calmly controlling the position for now.
Fritz Hobbs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Wilson.

Wilson wants the takedown. Hobbs is fighting it off but Wilson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hobbs's guard against the cage.
Wilson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Wilson tries to move to mount but Hobbs blocks the move with his legs.

Wilson has hold of Hobbs's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hobbs seems comfortable defending it but Wilson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hobbs is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hobbs is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Wilson couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tony Wilson!
