Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Takumar Pentax!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Very Rounded!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pentax throws a body kick that misses.
Rounded throws a combination. Pentax tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Rounded tries to clinch up but Pentax circles away and keeps his distance.

Rounded dives in and scores a takedown into Pentax's guard.

Rounded is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Pentax on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pentax tries to get out of the position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rounded wants to pass the guard but Pentax is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Rounded bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Rounded lands with a slapping head kick.

Very Rounded seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rounded misses with a series of wild punches.
Rounded tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pentax manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

We've been hearing good reports from Pentax's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rounded is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pentax asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Pentax is looking to take a break and control but Rounded is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Takumar Pentax overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Pentax tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pentax has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Rounded is looking to reverse the position.
Pentax is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Rounded will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Very Rounded showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pentax swats away the attempt to clinch by Rounded.
No luck for Rounded with that takedown attempt.
Rounded shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pentax pinned against the cage. Pentax gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Pentax misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Very Rounded seems to be getting the better of the standup.
