Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Margarito Mcneil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Carl Weathers!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcneil doesn't manage to clinch there - Weathers circles away.
Weathers shoots in looking for a takedown. Mcneil tries to sprawl out of it but Weathers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mcneil manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Weathers tries to clinch up but Mcneil circles away and keeps his distance.
Mcneil stuffs the takedown.
Mcneil throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Weathers counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Weathers tried to score with a low kick but Mcneil checks it.
Mcneil misses with a wild combination.
Mcneil really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Weathers tries to close the distance and clinch but Mcneil swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Weathers darts in looking for a takedown but Mcneil gets double underhooks and turns Weathers into the cage.

Mcneil is trying to force a seperation but Weathers has the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcneil is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Weathers is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mcneil throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Weathers takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Nice sprawl there from Mcneil as Weathers shoots in.
Weathers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mcneil tries to avoid it but Weathers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mcneil to the ground. Mcneil escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Weathers avoids the head kick by Mcneil.
Weathers is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Mcneil plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Mcneil drives through and clinches with Weathers against the cage.
Mcneil jumps guard but Weathers turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Weathers has Mcneil pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Weathers pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mcneil tumbling to the mat - Weathers dives into Mcneil's guard.
Mcneil wants to sweep here but Weathers controlling him for the moment.

Mcneil seems keen to control Weathers's posture.
Mcneil trying to keep a closed guard but Weathers is proving a slippery customer.
Mcneil is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Weathers holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Weathers is looking to clinch.
Mcneil changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Weathers tries to avoid it but Mcneil manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Weathers to the ground. Weathers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mcneil throws a front kick that sends Weathers stumbling back into the cage.
Weathers shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mcneil sprawls well. Mcneil wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Weathers gets slowly back to his feet.
Mcneil is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Weathers can do to turn this around?

Mcneil buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Weathers shoots in but Mcneil avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Mcneil fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Weathers, pushing him back against the cage.
Weathers has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mcneil avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Weathers looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Mcneil tries to pull guard but Weathers forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mcneil takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Weathers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mcneil pinned against the cage. Mcneil gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Weathers fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
An attempted straight right counter from Mcneil misses the target.

Mcneil rushes Weathers and presses him up against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mcneil has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Weathers is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Weathers has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Mcneil clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Weathers gets his hands free as Mcneil looks to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Margarito Mcneil will probably get the nod.

Weathers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mcneil pinned against the cage. Mcneil gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Carl Weathers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Weathers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mcneil slips a jab and a cross from Weathers.

and Weathers makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Mcneil feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Weathers has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Mcneil.
