PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pawel Nastula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dioxippus Nikolaidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nikolaidis has chosen Animal Collective - My Girls as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nastula ducks under a wild hook from Nikolaidis.
Nikolaidis connects with a nice looking jab.
Nikolaidis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Nastula drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee asks Nastula politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Nastula prefers to stall for the moment though.

Nastula stands up.
Nastula throws a leg kick which misses Nikolaidis's front leg but catches the back leg as Nikolaidis tries to avoid it.

Nastula shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nikolaidis's guard.
Nastula wants to control from the top but Nikolaidis keeps moving.

Nastula drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nastula jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Nastula throws a strike but Nikolaidis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Nastula had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Nikolaidis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nastula Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Nikolaidis's back instead.

Despite being in the dominant position, Dioxippus Nikolaidis just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
