The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Belfort throws a nice looking combination but Pope bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Belfort goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Belfort moves in looking to clinch but Pope pushes him off.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Belfort.
Belfort wants to stand but Pope has his arm trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pope tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Belfort wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Pope has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Belfort should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Pope has tightened it up now! Belfort should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
