Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Galen Mccleve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Galen Mccleve!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charles Norris!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mccleve bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Norris looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mccleve has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Norris is working away from the top position though.
Norris prevents Mccleve from standing back up.

Norris is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Norris wants to take a breather but Mccleve is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mccleve is trying to stand.
Mccleve works his way to full guard. Good work.

Norris scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Norris won't allow Mccleve to sweep him here.
Norris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mccleve swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mccleve pulls Norris in close to prevent any damage.
Norris won't allow Mccleve to get back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Mccleve clinches up with Norris and pushes him back against the cage.
Norris is defending well against a takedown attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Norris is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mccleve gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Norris is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mccleve to keep the fight standing.

Mccleve decides to pull guard.
Mccleve pulls Norris in close to his closed guard and prevents Norris from doing any damage or advancing position.
Norris looking to sit in guard and control but Mccleve gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mccleve in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Norris working for submissions but it's allowed Mccleve to get to half guard.

Mccleve thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Norris's head.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Norris can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mccleve is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Mccleve slips a nice elbow through Norris's hands, connecting with Norris's forehead.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mccleve wants to stand up but Norris is controlling the position.
Mccleve seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Mccleve looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Norris is looking to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Norris misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Mccleve is thwarting Norris's attempts to control the position.

No joy there for Norris, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Norris is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Mccleve jumps into side control!

Norris pushes Mccleve away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mccleve gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Mccleve is looking to take a break and control but Norris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mccleve tries to stand but Norris is controlling his head.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Norris bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

and Norris counters with a left and a right that stings Mccleve.

Norris tries to free his leg and advance position but Mccleve is retaining full guard.
Norris must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Mccleve is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Norris postures up and lands a big shot to Mccleve's brow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
