Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Adolph Hodge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keough Ethaylin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adolph Hodge has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hodge tries a head kick but it misses.
Hodge shoots in but Ethaylin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hodge fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A head kick misses from Hodge.
Ethaylin lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Nice takedown defense from Hodge. No joy for Ethaylin on that attempt.
Hodge could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ethaylin thows a body kick. Hodge tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Keough Ethaylin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ethaylin takes the fight into the clinch.

Hodge escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ethaylin connects with a high kick.
Ethaylin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As Ethaylin looks to move away, Hodge throws a big counter combo but Ethaylin just gets out of the way.
Hodge shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ethaylin as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adolph Hodge. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ethaylin throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hodge's head.

Ethaylin thuds his shin into the meat of Hodge's side.

Ethaylin has closed the distance and engaged Hodge in a clinch.

Ethaylin throws a punch but it's blocked by Hodge.
Hodge has Ethaylin pressed against the cage, preventing Ethaylin from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Hodge blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Ethaylin lands a right hand.
Ethaylin doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Hodge really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hodge seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Ethaylin drives through and clinches with Hodge against the cage.
Ethaylin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hodge just stands there and leans against the cage.
Ethaylin tries to break free but Hodge pushes him back against the cage.
Hodge has Ethaylin pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ethaylin manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Hodge has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ethaylin uses from the top position.
Hodge wants to get back to his feet but Ethaylin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Ethaylin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hodge. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hodge is positioning himself well to prevent Ethaylin advancing to mount.
Hodge throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Hodge is trying to get back to full guard.
Ethaylin blocks the strikes from Hodge.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ethaylin tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Hodge is controlling Ethaylin's position as best he can from this difficult position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keough Ethaylin dominated that round.

Ethaylin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hodge tries a head kick but it misses.
Ethaylin cracks Hodge with a good jab.
Ethaylin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ethaylin throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hodge.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hodge changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ethaylin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Ethaylin sneaks out the side door and pushes Hodge away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hodge closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hodge lands in his opponent's guard.

Ethaylin wants to hit a switch here but Hodge passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Ethaylin there!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hodge lands a heavy elbow.
Hodge lands with some strikes.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hodge avoids the attempt from Ethaylin to control.

Ethaylin is rocked!

Hodge is landing with some decent strikes but Ethaylin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Hodge lands a couple of good shots and Ethaylin has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Ethaylin is still in real trouble! Can Hodge finish him?
Hodge lands with a hammerfist to the side of Ethaylin's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hodge is raining down hard shots and and Ethaylin has had enough - he's tapped out due to the strikes!
