Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tristan Fenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Camatta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fenix comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tristan Fenix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Antonio Camatta!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Camatta fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fenix manages to avoid it.
Fenix fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fenix lands a lovely overhand right.

Fenix closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fenix lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fenix postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Fenix slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Camatta looking for a guillotine here but Fenix defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Camatta is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Fenix trying to control but Camatta is working from the bottom.

Fenix postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
We've been hearing good reports from Fenix's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Fenix is working Camatta over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Camatta looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Fenix puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Camatta has hold of Fenix's hands but Fenix slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Camatta controls Fenix momentarily but Fenix frees himself.
Fenix won't allow Camatta to sweep him here.
Fenix is fighting to break Camatta's control of his arms but Camatta is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Camatta not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Camatta is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Fenix is aware though and is defending well.

Camatta has an active guard here but Fenix has managed to pass into half guard.
Fenix working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Fenix throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Fenix landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Camatta is trying to control but can't.
Camatta wants to get back to full guard but Fenix has mounted him!
Fenix wants to control the pace but Camatta is squirming around nicely.
Fenix avoids the attempt from Camatta to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

It looks like Antonio Camatta has been cut.
Fenix cracks Camatta with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Fenix swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Fenix throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Camatta counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Camatta slips a jab from Fenix.
Fenix smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Fenix lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Camatta cracks Fenix with an open hand slap.
A big right from Camatta misses.
Fenix throws a jab but it's blocked by Camatta.
Fenix connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.


That has opened up Antonio Camatta's cut even more.
Camatta connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Fenix momentarily.
Fenix ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Camatta moves away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Camatta counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Fenix utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Camatta content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Fenix has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Camatta has passed into side control.
Fenix is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Camatta loads up on a big right hand but Fenix slips the punch.
Fenix throws an off balance right hand
and Camatta counters with a thumping low kick.
Fenix lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Camatta circles away quickly and effectively.
Camatta was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Antonio Camatta has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A looping hook to the body misses from Fenix. Camatta does a little dance to reset his feet.
Camatta throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Camatta stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Tristan Fenix is winning the standup battle so far.
Camatta misses the jab.
Fenix moves out of range as Camatta strikes.
Fenix misses with a wild combination.
Camatta moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Fenix misses with a straight right.
Camatta slips a jab from Fenix.
Fenix scores with a sloppy right hand. Camatta should have avoided that one.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

I would just about give that final round to Antonio Camatta.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
