The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Guedes paws at him with a jab and circles away.
It looked like Guedes was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Santos Diaz.

Guedes drops Santos Diaz with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Santos Diaz looks back up at him and smiles so Guedes waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Guedes tries to counter by clinching up but Santos Diaz breaks away and moves out of range.
Guedes uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Santos Diaz.
Santos Diaz throws a hook but Guedes avoids it easily.
Guedes throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Santos Diaz.

Santos Diaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Guedes seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Patrico Santos Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice straight punches there by Santos Diaz. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Santos Diaz.

It looks like Evandro Guedes has been cut.
Guedes goes for a small jab and connects. Now Guedes goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Santos Diaz stumbles back but Guedes runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Santos Diaz to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Santos Diaz will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
