The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thorson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fowler throws an elbow that misses. Thorson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fowler's guard. Nice move by Thorson!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Thorson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Fowler really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fowler is pulling down on Thorson's head. It's preventing any offense from Thorson, at least for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Fowler bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Fowler uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Thorson.
Fowler tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Thorson manages to circle out of the way.
