PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Colton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Aure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aure is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Can't be touch-Roy Jones. Ivan Aure is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andy Colton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Aure!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aure gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Colton to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Aure has his foot on Colton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Colton works his way back into a safe position though.

Aure is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Aure can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Colton controls the pace.

Colton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aure on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Colton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Aure has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Colton has managed to get both his arms back between Aure's legs - danger averted.

Colton is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Aure will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Aure seems a little lost for a moment, as Colton dominates the positioning.

Colton has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Aure is on him like a limpet, forcing Colton back against the cage.

Aure should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Aure working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Colton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Colton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Colton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Aure can do to turn this around?

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Colton postures up and lands a big shot to Aure's brow.
Colton is in close to Aure's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Aure has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Colton is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Aure.
Check out the look on Colton's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Colton looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Aure can't hide his disappointment, as Colton celebrates the victory.
