The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Trenchard tries to keep at a distance but Mckenna has taken the fight into the clinch.
Trenchard jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mckenna walks away with a smile on his face. Trenchard gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mckenna scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Jamie Trenchard has been cut.

Mckenna clinches with his opponent.
Mckenna wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Trenchard fails to pull guard.
The referee is keeping an eye on Mckenna - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Mckenna is trying to force a seperation but Trenchard has the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mckenna wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Trenchard has him pressed against the cage.
Mckenna is pressed up against the cage. Trenchard has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mckenna down to the mat. Mckenna avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Mckenna breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mckenna connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Mckenna ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Mckenna feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Trenchard sprawling to the canvas! Trenchard rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Mckenna finish him?!

Mckenna escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mckenna's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Trenchard fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mckenna throws the left hand but Trenchard avoids the punch easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mckenna clinches up with Trenchard and pushes him back against the cage.

Trenchard throws a wild hook but Mckenna just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Trenchard gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Mckenna raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
