Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rodger Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bic Boi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bic Boi will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rodger Simpson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bic Boi!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson slips a jab and a cross from Boi.
Bic Boi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick misses from Boi.
Simpson stuffs the takedown.

and Simpson counters with a series of strikes. Boi will be more careful next time no doubt.
Sloppy strikes from Boi. Those never looked like landing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Simpson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Simpson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Simpson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Simpson seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Simpson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Boi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Simpson defends it nicely.

Simpson leaves Boi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Boi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Simpson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Boi somewhat.
Simpson quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Boi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Simpson's waist but Simpson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Boi off to one side.

Simpson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Boi up against the cage.

Boi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Boi shoots for a double leg takedown but Simpson sprawls well. He's pushed Boi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Simpson appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Boi moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Boi is breathing heavily.

Boi has taken the fight to the clinch.
Simpson is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Simpson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Boi can do to turn this around?

Simpson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Boi uses from the top position.

Simpson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Boi manages to get himself to full guard.

Simpson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Simpson gets to his feet. Boi looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boi has one foot on Simpson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Boi motions for Simpson to come forward. Boi throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Simpson is looking for a counter combo.

Boi is looking to take this one to the mat.

Boi is trying to stall.

Simpson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Simpson manages to end up in side control.
Boi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Simpson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Simpson stands up and beckons Boi to his feet.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Boi.
A combination from Boi does no damage.
Boi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Boi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Boi has a takedown stuffed.
A little feinted left hand from Simpson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Boi throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
A head kick misses from Boi.
Simpson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nice takedown defense from Simpson. No joy for Boi on that attempt.
Rodger Simpson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bic Boi.
Boi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Simpson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Simpson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Simpson is chipping away with strikes.

Simpson stands up and beckons Boi to his feet.

Simpson moves into the clinch successfully.
Boi tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Simpson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Simpson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Boi stops Simpson from standing up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boi is fighting to break Simpson's control of his arms but Simpson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Simpson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Simpson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Simpson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rodger Simpson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Simpson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
