And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nobutaka Hiyoshi!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villanueva takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Villanueva. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Hiyoshi gets caught flat footed, as Villanueva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Villanueva postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Villanueva throws and elbow that misses. Hiyoshi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Villanueva's guard. Nice move by Hiyoshi!
Hiyoshi wants to get up but he can't break Villanueva's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Villanueva has his foot on Hiyoshi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hiyoshi works his way back into a safe position though.

Villanueva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hiyoshi controls the pace.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Hiyoshi stuffs the takedown attempt from Villanueva. Villanueva gets slowly back to his feet.

Villanueva looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Hiyoshi's corner calls for a 1-2. Hiyoshi obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

The fighters circle momentarily. Hiyoshi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Villanueva closes the distance and clinches up with Hiyoshi, looking for a takedown. Villanueva pushes Hiyoshi against the cage but Hiyoshi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hiyoshi connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Villanueva momentarily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hiyoshi goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Villanueva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Paulo Villanueva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Nobutaka Hiyoshi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Hiyoshi winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
