The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miles misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Miles will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Van Damme lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A combination from Van Damme does no damage.
Van Damme tries a head kick but it misses.
Van Damme will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Miles shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Van Damme as he jumps to the side.
Jean Claude Van Damme has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Master Miles.
Miles tries to clinch but Van Damme is having none of it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Miles looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Miles shoots in but Van Damme avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Miles shoots in but no luck this time.
Van Damme catches Miles with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

It looks like Master Miles has been cut.
Miles looks gassed!

Miles shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Van Damme is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Miles is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Van Damme has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Van Damme!
Van Damme wants to get up but he can't break Miles's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Van Damme gets to his feet. Miles looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Miles shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Van Damme but Van Damme pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Master Miles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Miles on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Van Damme. Van Damme obviously looking to wear him down.

Van Damme throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Miles drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Miles has gone for a leg lock! Van Damme slips out almost immediately though and dives into Miles's guard.
Miles wants to stand and escape but Van Damme is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Miles is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Miles had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Van Damme is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Miles Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Van Damme's back instead.
