Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arnold Rimmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baker is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by London Calling. Richard Baker looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Arnold Rimmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Richard Baker!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baker listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Baker looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rimmer is fending him off so far but Baker persists. Nope, Rimmer circles away and we're back to standing.
Baker throws a body punch but Rimmer moves out of range.

Baker gets caught flat footed, as Rimmer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Rimmer postures up in Baker's guard and throws a big left but Baker blocks it.
Rimmer sitting in guard here, content to control.
Baker not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rimmer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Baker is keeping the position for now.
Rimmer is working hard here to advance position.
Baker keeping moving, preventing Rimmer from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rimmer throws a leg kick but Baker moved away.

Baker gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Baker trying to keep a closed guard but Rimmer is proving a slippery customer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rimmer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Rimmer stands and steps away. Baker gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Richard Baker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rimmer misses with a hook.
Baker fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rimmer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rimmer fakes the leg kick and cracks Baker in the body.
Rimmer really is a fat lump.
Baker looks gassed!

Rimmer misses with a kick to the body.
Nice sprawl there from Baker as Rimmer shoots in.
Baker shoots in but no luck this time.

Baker instigates a clinch.
Baker with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Rimmer tries to pull guard but Baker holds him up against the cage and eventually Rimmer drops back down to his feet.

Rimmer tightens his grip and picks Baker up, before dumping him to the ground. Baker manages to land in guard.
Rimmer tries to free his leg and advance position but Baker is retaining full guard.
Baker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rimmer is controlling him.

Rimmer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rimmer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Baker seems keen to control Rimmer's posture.

Baker is trying to keep Rimmer in close.
Rimmer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Rimmer trying to control but Baker is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rimmer misses with a left hand

and Baker counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Rimmer wants to sweep but no luck.

Rimmer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rimmer looking for a sweep. Not yet Rimmer, not yet.

Rimmer has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Baker is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rimmer.
Rimmer tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Baker easily slips into full mount!
Rimmer is trying to reverse the position but instead Baker has taken his back - oops!
Rimmer looking very determined here, making life difficult for Baker.
Baker has the hooks in. Rimmer is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Rimmer trying to control but not successfully.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Baker's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Arnold Rimmer will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Baker stuffs the takedown.
Rimmer on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Baker. Baker obviously looking to wear him down.
Rimmer is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Baker.
Baker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rimmer moves in looking to clinch but Baker pushes him off.

Baker shoots in and bounces Rimmer off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Baker wants to control from the top but Rimmer keeps moving.
Baker looking to pass the guard.
Rimmer keeping moving, preventing Baker from controlling successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rimmer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rimmer looking for a guillotine here but Baker defends easily.
Baker wants to control from the top but Rimmer keeps moving.
Baker pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rimmer is keeping the position for now.
Baker would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rimmer circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rimmer has a takedown stuffed.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Rimmer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Baker is trying to maintain the position but Rimmer is very close to passing his half guard.

Rimmer wants to control from the top but Baker keeps moving.

Rimmer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rimmer is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Baker counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Baker.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arnold Rimmer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Baker tries to pull guard but Rimmer holds him up against the cage and eventually Baker drops back down to his feet.

Baker jumps into guard, dragging Rimmer to the mat.
Baker is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rimmer tries to roll over but Baker keeps him under control.
Baker is tying to control. Rimmer wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Rimmer wants to get back to full guard.
Rimmer is pressing down on Baker's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Rimmer lands a good elbow from the bottom.
Rimmer wants to sweep but no luck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Richard Baker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Rimmer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Baker's waist but Baker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rimmer off to one side.
Baker tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Rimmer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Baker's guard now.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Baker holds on and takes a little breather.

Rimmer drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Baker dives on top into guard.

Rimmer had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Baker is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rimmer Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Baker's back instead.

Arnold Rimmer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Baker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Rimmer controls the position.
Rimmer looking to hold on to the position here but Baker rolls and ends up regaining guard.
Baker utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rimmer wants to control from the top but Baker keeps moving.
Baker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rimmer manages to get himself to full guard.
Baker postures up and lands a big shot to Rimmer's brow.
Baker wants to control from the top but Rimmer keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rimmer tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rimmer is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Rimmer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Baker avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Rimmer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rimmer showed some decent athleticism there.
Rimmer with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Baker has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rimmer is working away from the top position though.
Rimmer passes the guard and advances to mount!
Baker blocking the ground and pound.
Rimmer landing strikes from the mount and Baker is in trouble!

Rimmer landing strikes, looking to finish!

Rimmer is working for a guillotine from mount but Baker frees his head quite easily.
Rimmer wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Rimmer with the ground and pound from mount.
Baker tries to hold on but Rimmer postures up.
Rimmer thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Rimmer goes for an armbar but Baker turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Baker.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rimmer wants to hit a switch here but Baker passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Rimmer there!

And that's the end of the fight!
Arnold Rimmer showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Rimmer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
