The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails with a takedown attempt.
Eyricus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A punch combination from Smith misses.
Eyricus avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Smith scores with a one two! Eyricus had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Nitram Eyricus has been cut.

Eyricus feints and as Smith raises his hands in defense, Eyricus changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Eyricus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Eyricus is tying to control. Smith wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Eyricus swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Smith is now in Eyricus's guard. A big mistake from Eyricus there, giving up the dominant position!

Eyricus had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Smith is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Eyricus Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Smith's back instead.
