Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ramierez Ramierez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giorgio Palazzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ramierez Ramierez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Giorgio Palazzi!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ramierez gets a takedown into half guard.
Palazzi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Palazzi is not content to let Ramierez control the position.
Palazzi tries to roll over but Ramierez keeps him under control.
Palazzi trying to control but Ramierez postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Palazzi is trying to get back to full guard.
Palazzi is concentrating on defense, preventing Ramierez from advancing position.

Ramierez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Palazzi keeps working.
Ramierez missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Ramierez is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Palazzi is looking for a sweep. Ramierez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Ramierez winds up and cracks Palazzi with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Ramierez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Palazzi works his way to full guard. Good work.

Ramierez won't allow Palazzi to sweep him here.
Ramierez wants to control from the top but Palazzi keeps moving.
Ramierez is looking to advance position but Palazzi has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Palazzi content just to control the position here.
Let's hope that Palazzi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Palazzi.
It looks like Palazzi might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Palazzi looking to control but Ramierez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Palazzi prevents Ramierez from getting the reversal.

Ramierez tries to hold on but Palazzi pushes him away.

A close round but Giorgio Palazzi will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Ramierez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Palazzi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Ramierez Ramierez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ramierez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Ramierez tries to hold on but Palazzi postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Giorgio Palazzi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Palazzi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Palazzi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ramierez tries to lock up and control but Palazzi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ramierez wants to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Palazzi in particular looking to stall.
Giorgio Palazzi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ramierez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Palazzi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ramierez shoots in but Palazzi avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ramierez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Palazzi swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ramierez Ramierez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Palazzi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ramierez did well to prevent Palazzi getting side control.

Giorgio Palazzi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Palazzi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
