Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Townsend gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Pakiau cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pakiau lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Townsend backs up against the cage.
Pakiau swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Townsend tries to counter with a takedown but Pakiau is quick to defend against it.
Pakiau stuns Townsend with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Townsend rushes Pakiau and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Townsend's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Pakiau gets tackled into the cage by Townsend. Townsend maintains the clinch.
Pakiau has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Townsend has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pakiau uses from the top position.

Townsend has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pakiau can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Pakiau really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Townsend. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pakiau wants to control from the top but Townsend keeps moving.

Townsend working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pakiau doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Townsend is tightening it up a little... Pakiau has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Pakiau reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Pakiau taps out! Nice BJJ there by Townsend!
