PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eugene Albright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ilpo Kontiovaara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ilpo Kontiovaara told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kontiovaara tries to clinch but Albright is having none of it.
Albright moves out of range as Kontiovaara strikes.
Kontiovaara goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Albright tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kontiovaara stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Kontiovaara has taken the fight to the clinch.
Albright tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kontiovaara's elbow.

Albright jumps guard and drags Kontiovaara to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Albright pulls Kontiovaara in to control the position.
Kontiovaara stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Albright swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Albright will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Albright bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kontiovaara's guard.

Kontiovaara tries to roll over but Albright keeps him under control.
Albright is trying to control the action in half guard but Kontiovaara is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Albright is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ilpo Kontiovaara will probably get the nod.
