Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Parks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Murdock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michael Murdock told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 43 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Lyoto Parks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Murdock!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Parks 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Michael Murdock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Murdock throws a body shot but no joy.
An attempted straight right counter from Parks misses the target.
Parks throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Murdock sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Murdock doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Parks misses with a lunging right hand
and Murdock connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Lyoto Parks has been cut.
Murdock pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Murdock swings away with a body shot that misses
and Parks counters with a stiff right hand.
Murdock looks to throw the jab but Parks is out of range.
Parks moves out of range of the strikes.
Murdock getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Parks misses with a straight right.
A little jabbing left from Murdock on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Murdock throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Murdock throws a body shot but no joy.
Parks walks into a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Murdock will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Parks wants to clinch
and Murdock connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Parks scores with a hook to the body. Murdock takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A slow jab from Parks misses its intended target.
Murdock tries to bum rush Parks with a series of wild strikes but Parks uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Murdock scores with a jab to the jaw.
Murdock moves out of range of the strikes.
Murdock pushes Parks away with a front kick.
Parks throws a looping overhand right but Murdock ducks down to avoid it.
Parks tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Murdock counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Parks lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
A jab from Parks misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Parks takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Parks misses the shot to the body.
Parks thuds a left hand into Murdock's body.
Nice defenses there by Parks.
Murdock throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Parks on the side of the head.
Murdock jabs Parks right on the nose. Parks blinks but takes it well.
Parks throws an overhand right that lands on Murdock's shoulder, as Murdock tries to avoid the shot.
Murdock changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Parks misses with a straight left.
Murdock lands a head shot.
Parks darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Murdock throws a head kick that misses.
Murdock connects with a leg kick. Parks looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Parks tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Murdock moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Murdock stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Parks takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Murdock with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Parks keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
An attempted straight right counter from Parks misses the target.
Murdock takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Murdock connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Parks momentarily.
Murdock dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Murdock is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Parks had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Parks takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Parks throws a hook but Murdock avoids it easily.
As Parks backs off Murdock throws a huge counter combo but Parks manages to avoid it all.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Parks walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Parks throws a right hand that misses

and Murdock counters with a crisp right hand that drops Parks! Murdock lets Parks back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


Parks is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nice defenses there by Parks.
Parks misses with a jab to the body
and Murdock makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Parks misses with a looping right.
Parks moves out of range of the body kick from Murdock.
Parks is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Murdock keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Parks.
Murdock tests Parks's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Parks walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Murdock lands a slapping body shot.
Murdock uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Parks.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Parks takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
A lazy left from Murdock finds it's target.
Parks takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Parks looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Murdock buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Parks walks into a jab.
Murdock slips a straight right by Parks.
A jab from Murdock does it's job there.
Murdock tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Parks was well out of range. Poor timing from Murdock.
A little feinted left hand from Parks on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Parks misses with a left hand
letting Murdock counter with a right hand.
Parks throws a jab when Murdock was well out of range.
Parks has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Murdock.
Parks cracks a nice hook into Murdock's ribs.
Murdock has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Murdock lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Murdock lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Murdock tries to land a body kick
and Parks counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Murdock misses with the body kick
letting Parks counter with a right hand.
Murdock takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Murdock lands a big head kick that sends Parks tumbling to the mat! Murdock takes a step backwards and waves Parks back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Oh Parks is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Parks gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Murdock gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Murdock!
Michael Murdock very nearly forgot to thank Sully's Bar & Grill amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
