The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Birch is trying hard to land a takedown here. Abueva sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Abueva feints a jab promting Birch to slip. Abueva then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Birch slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
That has opened up Tom Birch's cut even more.
Abueva connects with a right hand. Birch shakes it off.
Abueva cracks Birch with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Abueva seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Abueva cracks Birch with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
The cut above Tom Birch's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Birch takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Abueva slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Abueva lands with a straight right. Birch didn't see that one coming.
Birch is still on wobbly legs! Can Abueva finish him?
Calvin Abueva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Abueva drops Birch with a straight right hand, right on the button! Abueva follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
