The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackwell throws a right and a left that both miss.
Blackwell swinging wildly here.
Dfv tries to bum rush Blackwell with a series of wild strikes but Blackwell uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Blackwell feinted with a counter takedown.
Dfv misses with a double jab.
Blackwell seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Dfv clinches up against the cage.
Blackwell is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Dfv breaks the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dfv swings wildly with an uppercut but Blackwell uses good head movement to avoid it.

Blackwell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Blackwell fails with the takedown.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Blackwell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dfv misses with a double jab.
Dfv throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Dfv feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Blackwell sprawling to the canvas! Blackwell rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Dfv finish him?!

Blackwell is rocked!

It looks like Cordell Blackwell has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dfv ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Blackwell's jaw. Blackwell's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Dfv does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
