Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marion Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuki Okamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marion Sanders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yuki Okamoto!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okamoto throws a lazy right hand but Sanders sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Okamoto throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sanders counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Okamoto throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Okamoto tries to keep at a distance but Sanders has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sanders connects with a nasty looking knee right to Okamoto's face.
Okamoto takes an elbow to the temple.
A frustrated look appears on Okamoto's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Sanders wants a takedown.
Sanders misses with a knee to the head.
Sanders misses with an elbow strike.
Okamoto has had enough of the clinch but Sanders keeps him there for the moment.
Okamoto prevents a takedown attempt there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanders lands an elbow inside that Okamoto shrugs off.
Okamoto tries to circle away but Sanders has him pinned against the cage.
Sanders goes for a takedown in the clinch but Okamoto prevents it.

Sanders has Okamoto pressed against the cage, preventing Okamoto from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Sanders jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Okamoto walks away with a smile on his face. Sanders gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Okamoto has had enough of the clinch but Sanders keeps him there for the moment.

Sanders breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Okamoto!
Okamoto connects with a right hand. Sanders shakes it off.

and Okamoto counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Sloppy strikes from Okamoto. Those never looked like landing.

Yuki Okamoto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Okamoto throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Okamoto stuns Sanders with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Okamoto looks to land a combination but Sanders avoids it well.
Okamoto dips to his left and cracks Sanders with an uppercut!
Yuki Okamoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Okamoto misses with a two punch combination.
Sanders wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Sanders tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Okamoto paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sanders dodges the punch combination from Okamoto.
No joy there for Okamoto, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Okamoto lands with a nice body punch.
Okamoto misses the shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yuki Okamoto dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Okamoto wants to get back to his feet but Sanders is dominant here and he's now got Okamoto's back!
A lull in the action here.

Okamoto is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Sanders gets his way!

Sanders has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Okamoto has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Okamoto is trying to get back to his feet but Sanders has full control of the position and if anything, Okamoto has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Sanders really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Okamoto is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Sanders off. It looks like it's working - Sanders slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Okamoto displaying calm under pressure there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Okamoto lands with an uppercut that bounces Sanders off the cage and back into range.

Okamoto uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Sanders takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Okamoto is pressed up against the cage. Sanders has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Okamoto down to the mat. Okamoto avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Okamoto rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sanders moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sanders.

Okamoto looks to land a combination. Sanders sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


Sanders is rocked!

Sanders gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Okamoto gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Sanders is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yuki Okamoto!
Our winner, Yuki Okamoto, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
