PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luke Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chosu McGrady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chosu McGrady!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGrady shoots in looking for a takedown but Vader manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McGrady's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
McGrady is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
McGrady misses with an uppercut.
Vader lands with a hook. McGrady tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
McGrady tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vader was well out of range. Poor timing from McGrady.
Vader blocks a jab.

McGrady forces Vader back against the cage and clinches.
McGrady is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Vader to keep the fight standing.

McGrady escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

McGrady drives through with a takedown into guard.

McGrady is looking to pass into half guard but Vader pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Vader is in guard.

McGrady wants to stand but Vader is controlling the position.
Vader wants to control from the top but McGrady keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vader is in close to McGrady's body, working some short punches and elbows.
McGrady wants to sweep here but Vader controlling him for the moment.
Vader throws a big elbow that misses.

McGrady has momentary wrist control but Vader slips an elbow through the middle.
McGrady wants to get back to his feet but Vader is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

McGrady tries to kick Vader off but Vader keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Vader seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Vader is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
