Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between I Am (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teemu Karjalainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Am's entrance music is Mobb Deep - Shook Ones Part II. A fine choice. Karjalainen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Poisonblack - Sun Shines Black. Teemu Karjalainen has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with I Am's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Teemu Karjalainen!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Am looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Am's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Am duly obliges.
Am pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Am fails to land with a series of punches.
Karjalainen dodges the punch combination from Am.
Am throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Karjalainen throws a right and a left that Am avoids nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Karjalainen throws a head kick but Am moves out of range.
Am tries to score with a low kick but Karjalainen moves his leg out of the way.

Am fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Am seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Am bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Karjalainen's head.

Am thuds his right hand into Karjalainen's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

As Karjalainen backs away, Am returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Karjalainen has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Am tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Karjalainen defends well and Am ends up having to push Karjalainen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

I Am seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Am throws a combination that misses
enabling Karjalainen to counter with a crisp jab.
Am throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

And Karjalainen tries to counter it with a takedown but Am pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Karjalainen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Am.
A little jabbing left from Karjalainen on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Am tried to counter with a leg kick but Karjalainen avoided it.
Am missing with a left hand there. Karjalainen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

I Am dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Karjalainen throws a leg kick but Am checks it.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Karjalainen might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Am has got the better of the exchanges.

Am goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Karjalainen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Karjalainen there as he acknowledges the shot.

Am is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Karjalainen can do to turn this around?

and Am makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Am cracks the inside of Karjalainen's front leg.

Am changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Karjalainen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Karjalainen is looking for a sweep.

Am swings around for an armbar but Karjalainen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Am's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Am utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Karjalainen works over Am with some ground and pound from guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Karjalainen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Karjalainen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Am swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Am is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Karjalainen connects with a couple of short punches.
Karjalainen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Am not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Karjalainen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Am is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Karjalainen frees his head nicely. Oh but Am has switched to an armbar! Karjalainen is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
