Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Carballo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Khalil Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khalil Silva will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Khalil Silva!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva feints a jab promting Carballo to slip. Silva then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Carballo slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like Gustavo Carballo has been cut.
Carballo fails with a takedown attempt.
Carballo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Silva defends it nicely.
Silva steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Carballo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gustavo Carballo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carballo shoots in for a double leg but Silva sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Silva manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Carballo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Carballo drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Carballo off! Carballo jumps back into Silva's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Silva is pressing down on Carballo's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Carballo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Silva, who protects the arm well.

Silva stops Carballo from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Carballo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Silva can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Carballo is looking to work his way around to Silva's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Carballo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silva is looking to escape.

Carballo is looking to control Silva but Silva is wriggling around and keeping busy.

That was a close round but I would say that Gustavo Carballo will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Carballo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carballo wants it to stay on the feet.

You can see the frustration on Silva's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carballo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva is squirming around, avoiding Carballo's attempts to control the action.

Carballo has hold of Silva's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Silva manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Silva is trying to escape the mount but Carballo keeps good control and instead manages to take Silva's back.

What can Silva do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Carballo has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Silva is in real trouble here. Carballo gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Silva is tapping out! Carballo wins by rear naked choke!
