The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baldemnic shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Matasaki on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Matasaki trying to hold on to Baldemnic's head to control him but Baldemnic postures up.
Matasaki moves into full guard.
Matasaki is trying to keep Baldemnic in close.
Matasaki is pulling down on Baldemnic's head to control his posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Matasaki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Baldemnic is fighting to break Matasaki's control of his arms but Matasaki is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

In his post fight interview, Hirusho Matasaki started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
